PILATES/dance education

Sophie has been dancing since the age of 3, training at the National Theatre Ballet School and Dance Factory. She has trained in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop and aerial skills and has completed her RAD ballet examinations up to Intermediate with Honours.  Sophie spent 4 years in Japan where she worked as a dancer, aerialist and diver at Tokyo Disney Resort. During this time Sophie performed in three different shows and was appointed Acrobatics Captain for the cast of Mystic Rhythms in 2012. 

Sophie has trained with Limber Sports Performance head coach, Lauren Skopal, since 2009 and has discovered a keen interest in alternative training methods for dancers and adapting dance training methods for non-dancers. With nearly ten years dance teaching experience, Sophie also has Certificates III & IV in Fitness and a Diploma of Studio and Rehabilitation Pilates. She has certifications in barre fitness, classical and fitness Pilates and pre & post natal Pilates. She was one of the first certified In-Trinity instructors in Australia and has completed Lisa Howell’s Level 1 Dance Teacher & Therapist Training. She continues to stay active within the performing arts industry and is regularly teaching dance and pilates education workshops with I CAN MOVE
